  • Look Inside

The neuromuscular junctions in flexor thigh muscles of 8 dystrophic mice with their 6 control siblings were studied morphologically and con-cluded as follows: 1) The mean value of maximum diameters of motor endplates in dystrophic mice was longer than that in controls.

2) Eight or ten terminal fibers on the large muscle fiber were observed in dystrophic mice. Increase of the number of the terminal fibers originated from the preterminal sprouting. This increase might be compatible with the large endplates on the large muscles in dystrophic mice.
