中枢神経刺激剤の脳内直接注入による脳波の研究—Xanthinol Nicotinate, CDP-Choline, Caffein and Sodium Benzoate

Electroencephalographic Study of the Local Infection of Central Nervous Stimulants into the Brain

I．はじめに

　意識の機構を支える生理学的機序として，脳内賦活系に関しては中脳網様体賦活系^1）（ascending midbrain reticular activating system）および視床下部賦活系^2）（ascending hypothalamic activating system）の存在は広く知られているところである。これら脳内の賦活系は脳内に存在する抑制系とバランスをとりながら正常な意識状態は保持されていると考えられる。脳内の抑制系に関しては1955年Dement ＆ Kleitman^3）により報告された逆説睡眠というきわめて特異な興味ある現象は意識の生理学的機序を知る糸口として，また意識に関する抑制系として重要な突破口となつた。

　眠つているにもかかわらず覚醒時脳波像を示すという逆説睡眠の発現機序については橋部網様体がその主役を持つといわれている^47）。

Xanthinol Nicotinate, CDP-choline and Caffeine-Sodium Benzoate were injected into the mesencephalic reticular formation, posterior hypothalamus and pontine reticular formation in the cat. Following the application of Xanthinol Nicotinate into the aboved-mentioned sites, neocortical and hip-pocampal deactivated patterns were observed. Neocortical and hippocampal seizure patterns were induced by the injection of CDP-choline into the mesencephalic reticular formation and posterior hypothalamus. When Caffein-Sodium Benzoate applied into the above-mentioned sites, neocortical and hippocampal seizure patterns were observed.
