  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Evidence-based medicine (EBM) is a strategy for the standardization of medical decision-making. The purpose of this review was to demonstrate the treatment of Parkinson's disease with dopamine receptor agonists according to the idea of EBM using the best available evidence. Most of the evidence employed was derived from double-blind controlled studies. Dopamine (DA) replacement strategies offer greatest symptomatic relieaf. DA receptor agonist monotherapy is efficacious on the treatment of Parkinson's disease, though all available agonists have been shown to be less effective and less well tolerated than levodopa.
