  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Pure amnesic syndrome is defined as a syndrome characterized by (1) normal immediate memory, (2) impaired recent memory (anterograde amnesia), (3) impaired remote memory with temporal gradient (retrograde amnesia), and (4) normal intelligence as measured by tests such as Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale. We reported our long-term experiences on three cases of pure amnesia secondary to herpes simplex encephalitis. Neuropsychological and neuroradiological follow up period ranged from 12 to 33 months.
