  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Many cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) are found in both neuronal and non-neuronal tissues. Recent research suggests that CAMs play a major role in cell-cell interaction during development.

Several types of CAMs have been identified and classified following three members. 1) Cadherin gene family, 2) Immunoglobulin gene superfamily, 3) Integrins family, a family of cell surface receptors.
