接触性サーモグラフィーによる精索静脈瘤診断

USEFULNESS OF CONTACT SCROTAL THERMOGRAPHY FOR DIAGNOSIS OF VARICOCELE

　精索静脈瘤診断に接触性サーモグラフィーを用い，視触診，超音波診断，ドップラー診断との比較を試みた。静脈造影を全例施行していないため，確定診断ではないが，精索静脈瘤として陽性所見を得た22例中，視触診では14例（64％）が診断可能であったが，サーモグラフィーでは20例（91％），ドップラーでは18例（82％），超音波では8例（36％）が診断可能であった。

　以上より，精索静脈瘤診断，特にいわゆるサブクリニカル精索静脈瘤診断において，接触性サーモグラフィーは簡便かつ有用な診断の一助であり，特にドップラーとの併用が推奨される。

Contact scrotal thermography was used for the detectionof varicocele and compared with palpation, sonographyand doppler. Of 22 cases diagnosed for varicocele, 14(63%) was detected by palpation, 20(91%) by contactscrotal thermography, 18(82%) by doppler, and only 8(36%) by sonography.

Therefore, contact scrotal thermography is useful andeasy to detect varicocele, and it is advisable to use bothcontact scrotal thermography and doppler as the routineexamination for male infertility.
