  • Look Inside

A male paraplegic who fathered a girl by an artificial insemination after the subarachnoidal injection of neostigmine was reported. A 33-year-old male sustained a compression fracture of Th6 following a fall from the height of 3 meter 3 years ago, resulting in a complete paralysis below Th9 segment. Thereafter he experienced weak erections which persisted only briefly without ejaculations. He and his wife visited our clinic in the hope of siring a child.

In March 1983, 0.75 mg neostigmine was injected for the first time into a subarachnoidal space, which was followed by 1 ml of semen.
