  • Look Inside

A 58-year-old man underwent radical nephrectomy for renal cell carcinoma in January 1979. He was well until January 1982, when he complained of lumbago. An oral lentitive was used regularly for relief of pain. In July 1982, he complained of muscle weakness of left lower extremity and had claudi-cation. Computed tomography revealed destruction of the body of the 4 th lumber vertebra.

In September 1982, the left 3 d and 4 th lumber arteries, feeding the metastatic lesion, were embo-lized with Gelfoam and 10 mg of mitomycin C. Adamkiewicz artery was not visualized by angiography performed prior to the embolization.
