Statistical studies were performed on 890 bacterial strains isolated from the out patients with urinary tract infections and disk sensitivities at the urological department of Mitsui Memorial Hospital from January 1977 to December 1979.

(1) Gram-negative bacilli occupied 81.1% of all isolates. E. coli was isolated most frequently (47.6%), followed by proteus sp. (11.3%), Streptococcus faecalis (9.0%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, (7.4%), Staphylococcus epidermidis (6.1%), Serratia sp. (4.6%), Klebsiella sp. (4.3%) etc.
