  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

In a total of 14 nephrotomy cases under regional renal hypothermia, serum lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) activities were determined postoperatively, and changes in serum LDH isoenzyme patterns were studied in 10 of these cases. The duration of ischemia was 18 to 94 minutes in 14 cases, and the tempe-rature of the kidney during ischemia ranged between 15 and 20℃ in most cases.

In 11 out of 14 cases, postoperative elevation of LDH levels was seen with peak level of 428 to 964 Wu/ml (588 Wu/ml on an average).
