  • Look Inside

Shiatsu method, if applied properly to the point tenderness located at processus costarius of the third lumbar vertebra and by the lateral edge of the m. psoas major of both sides of the vertebra, has powerful analgesic effects for colic of ureteral stones. But its effects are variable. Two different groups were studied. Group A was 32 patients who were sampled randomly from population of patients with ureteral colic, and to whom only shiatsu method was applied, and group B was patients who had been medicated with little benefit by antispasmodics and analgesics within 2 to 10 hr. before shiatsu method was applied.
