下部尿路手術と尿路感染—第1報：統計的観察

URINARY TRACT INFECTION AND LOWER URINARY TRACT OPERATIONS:1. STATISTICAL STUDY

はじめに

　下部尿路に対する手術では，カテーテル留置がほとんど不可欠の操作となる。そして手術そのものによる影響よりも，尿路腔と外界を結ぶこのカテーテルが細菌搬入路となつて尿路感染の発症は半ば不可避的な合併症となつてくる。今回，当院泌尿器科における下部尿路手術後の尿中細菌の動向を追究したので，ここにその概要を報告し，今後の改善の資料としたい。

Pre-and postoperative bacteriuria was investigated in 135 operations for various lower urinary tract disorders.

The most frequent and intractable bacteriuria was observed in cryosurgery of the prostate compared with open prostatectomy, segmental cystectomy and open vesical neck resection. This may be the result of the longterm catheterization and the palliate nature of the procedure. After the removal of catheter, the frequency of bacteriuria reduced gradually, and the better result was obtained by the use of short term antimicrobials.
