DIRECT SMEAR TEST BY FLEXIBLE CYSTOFIBERSCOPE

はじめに

　尿の細胞診は尿路上皮性の悪性腫瘍のスクリーニングの方法としては極めて有力な方法であるにもかかわらず臨床の実際における評価は高いとは言えない現状である。しかし，職業性膀胱癌のスクリーニングの場合には，工場衛生管理の立場から信頼できるcytotechnologistが全国的に配置されて細胞診を中心にsystemicな監視体制が整えられつつある。

　われわれは職業性膀胱癌のpotencyを持つ某染料工場の従業員約200名と一般の膀胱癌症例約150例の術後の経過観察を行なつている間に，尿細胞診の現状に多くの疑問を感じ内視鏡の直視下に細胞を採取することを考えた。

A flexible cystofiberscope for early discovery of postoperative reccurrence and occupational bladder carcinoma was devised.

The advantage of this instrument is that smear cytology is able to obtain by brushing on the pathologic area under direct vision after the bladder is distended with air.
