Ⅰ．緒言
腎乳頭壊死は，1877年Von Friedreich1）により報告されて以来，欧米では多数の報告がみられるが，本邦における報告は比較的少ない。教室では先に斉藤ら2）が糖尿病に起因する腎乳頭壊死の1例を報告したが，最近腎盂腎炎によると考えられる症例を経験したので報告する。
A case of renal papillary necrosis without diabetes mellitus nor urinary obstruction due to calculi, was reported.
A woman, aged sixty two, with the history of pyelonephritis, suddenly started to complain severe left flank pain with fever, three weeks after lumbar trauma by traffic accident.
Microscopic findings of the removed left kidney was papillary necrosis with arteriosclerosis.
