  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

1. The incidence of tinea versicolor was lower in the area of Sanin Setonaikai climatic type, including the northern part of Kyushu. It was higher in the area with higher tempe-rature and larger amount of rain (Tokushima prefecture, Middle Kyushu, and Southern Kyushu). It was extremely high in the area on the coast and in the industrial zone.

2. The geographic distribution of vitiligo vulgaris was similar to that of tinea versicolor. Its frequency was higher in the suburbs of the city where the samples were collected.

3. The frequency of psoriasis vulgaris was not necessarily higher in the city, but some special parts of Kumamoto, Saga and Kagoshima prefecture. This suggests the existence of genetic factor in this disease.

4. The frequency of the skin tuberculosis was higher in the area with old people. It was reversal correlation with that of pulmonary tuberculosis.

Comparing with the statistics of the skin tuberculosis from the Department of Dermatology of Kyushu University from 1945 to 1954, the number of patient of lupus miliaris dissemina-tus faciei increased significantly.
