  • Look Inside

Hunt syndrome is believed a virus disease of herpes zoster oticus in the facial nerve including the geniculate ganglion. The great superficial petrosal nerve separates from the facial nerve at the geniculate ganglion and distributes in the nasal mucosa.

The effects on the nasal airflow resistance was studied on postual change from sitting to supine position of the patients with Hunt syndrome by means of anterior rhninometry.

Four out of 5 paients with Hunt syndrome showed the increase of the nasal airflow resistance in the ipsilateral nasal airway to the side of facial paraly-sis with Hunt syndrome.
