当科で経験した7例の急性声門下喉頭炎

Pseudocroup:A Report of Six Adults and One Child

　はじめに

　急性声門下喉頭炎は急性の呼吸困難を呈し，その対応は迅速かっ適切に行われなければならない疾患であり，従来小児に多く見られるものとされていた。著者は1984年7月から1994年11月までの10年間で小児の1症例と，発症が稀とされている成人6症例を経験したので若干の文献的考察を加え報告する。

From 1984 to 1994, seven patients with an acute swelling of the subglottic space (pseudocroup) were treated. Six patients (one male and five females) were adults aged 47 to 75 years. One patient was an eight-year-old male. There was no clear seasonal preference. All of the adults were diagnosed as croup due to secondary bacterial infection. Antibi otics and steroids inhalation were used in most of the patients. Two of the adults needed tracheotomy. The mean duration of hospitalization was 6.6 days. There were no death.
