Glycogen-rich Clear Cell Carcinoma in the Soft Palate

はじめに

　唾液線腫瘍のWHO組織分類で，monomorphic adenomaの中に稀ではあるがclear cell tumorとして記載されているものがある。

　症例が少ないため，その生物学的性状に関しては不明であったが，近年，悪性腫瘍としての性格を持つという報告がみられるようになってきた。

　われわれは，35歳女性の軟口蓋小唾液腺に由来すると思われる極めて稀なglycogen rich clear cell carcinomaの1例を経験したので報告する。

A rare case of glycogen-rich clear cell carcinoma in the soft palate was reported, and the literature was reviewed.

The light microscopic examination exhibited nonencapsulated nests and cords of polyhedral cells showing clear cytoplasms. Histochemical studies revealed that the tumor cells were PAS positive, diastase soluble and Alcian-blue negative.

Ultrastructural findings showed multiple lumen and intercellular spaces with prominent microvilli formed by tumor cells, which were surrounded by basal lamina and were joined by junctional ap-paratus.

We considered the present tumor was of epithelial origin most probably of ductal cells.
