Acoustic ncuroma in bilateral cerebellopontine angle regions developed in a patient with von Recklinghausen's disease was removed under mon-itoring auditory evoked potentials. Long term follow up of the auditory evoked potentials of this patient revealed that the amplitudes of auditory evoked potentials were gradually reduced over one and half months and finally disappeared. These electrophysiological findings seemed to be correlated with progression of degeneration of the cochlear nerve fibers that was initiated by mani-pulations in the cerebellopontine angle.
