他疾患により早期発見できた副咽頭間隙悪性腫瘍の1例

A case of subclinical parapharyngeal malignant tumor

I．はじめに

　他疾患の治療中に，偶然にも副咽頭間隙悪性混合性腫瘍が発見され早期に全摘出し得た症例について，文献的考察を加えて報告する。

A 41-year-old male was complaining of a sudden deafness. Plane CT of the temporal bone unexpectedly showed a mass with calcification in the parapharyngeal space. The size of the mass was 3cm in diameter. CT revealed the lateral border of the mass attached to the parotid gland. The mass was diagnosed of pleomorphic adenoma derived from the deep lobe of the parotid gland. By transcervical approach,the mass was removed completely. He had an uneventful recovery. The histopathological diagnosis was malignant mixed tumor. There was no distant metastasis.
