Pyogenic granuloma is a benign rapidly growing hemorrhagic lesion that occurs on the skin and mucosa. As pyogenic granulomas often occur on the oral mucosa during pregnancy, they are called pregnancy tumors. The author experienced a case of pyogenic granuloma on the tongue in a pregnant woman.

A 34-year-old woman of one month pregnant was aware of a mass in her tongue since 33th week of her pregnancy. The mass increased rapidly in size. Excision of the lesion under local anesthesia was performed at about 3 month postpartum. Histologic examination revealed a pyogenic granuloma. The postoperative course was uneventful and there was no recurrence 7 months after the operation.
