  • Look Inside

We evaluated 38 myopic eyes regarding subjective and objective refractions at one year after photorefractive keratectomy. The objective refraction tended to be more myopic than the subjective one, with the difference averaging-1.42 diopters (D) in spherical power and -0.49±0.52 D in cylindrical power. The disparity in spherical power was positively correlated with the amount of attempted spherical correction (p<0.0001). The findings seemed to show that the observed disparity originated from posttreatment corneal asphericity particularly when large amount of correction was intended.
