We evaluated 100 eyes by white-on-white (W/W) and blue-on-yellow (B/Y) perimetry. The series comprised 21 normal eyes, 19 eyes of ocular hypertension, 42 eyes of suspected glaucoma with enlarged disc cupping and 15 eyes of early glaucoma. We used 24-2 program of Humphrey perimeter. Size I stimulus was used for W/W and size V for B/Y perimetry. Both tests showed significantly reduced sensitivity in early and suspected glaucoma eyes as compared with normal eyes with W/W perimetry giving a higher significance than B/Y perimetry. W/W perimetry gave higher significance than B/Y perimetry regarding the number of abnormal points and probability symbols in early or suspected glaucoma than in normal eyes. Both perimetry showed larger short-time fluctuations, particularly for W/W perimetry in early glaucoma eyes as compared with normal eyes. The findings show that W/W perimetry is more sensitive in detecting early glaucoma than B /Y perimetry.
