特発性黄斑円孔における網膜周辺部変性の頻度

Incidence of peripheral retinal degeneration in eyes with idiopathic macular hole

　特発性黄斑円孔47症例48眼に対して，網膜周辺部の観察を行ったところ，48眼中18眼（38％）に網膜周辺部変性があり，そのうち格子状変性は11眼（23％）にあった。その頻度は対照群と比較して有意に高かった。荻野らの報告によれば，正視群における日本人の格子状変性の頻度は15歳以上で4.9％から5.5％で，今回の調査結果はそれに比較して，高頻度であった。このことから，一部の特発性黄斑円孔は網膜硝子体変性疾患の一表現型ではないか，と推測された。

Peripheral retinal breaks may develop following vitreous surgery for idiopathic macular hole. We examined the peripheral retina in 48 eyes of idiopathic macular hole. Another 48 healthy eyes served as control. Peripheral retinal degeneration was present in 18 eyes with macular hole, 38%, and in 2 eyes in the control, 4%. Lattice degeneration was present in 11 eyes with macular hole, 23%, and in 1 eye in the control, 2%. Thus, the incidence of peripheral retinal degeneration was significantly higher in eyes with idiopathic macular hole than in the controls. It appeared that some macular holes may be related with vitreoretinal degenerative process which also causes peripheral degenerations.
