　アトピー性皮膚炎（以下，AD）患者81例150眼の角膜内皮の状態を同年齢健常人と比較した。さらに白内障および網膜病変の有無や血清IgE値と角膜内皮変化との相関を調べた。

　AD患者は，同年齢健常人と比較し，平均細胞密度，平均細胞面積には有意差はなかったが，有意な六角形細胞出現率の低下，変動係数の増大を認めた（p＜0.01）。AD患者で血清IgE値が10,000IU／ml以上の高値群と150 IU／ml以下の正常群との比較ではいずれのパラメーターも有意差はなかった。白内障群と網膜病変群では白内障，網膜病変のともにない群に比べ，有意な六角形細胞出現率の低下，変動係数の増大を認めた（p＜0.05）。

　AD患者では網膜病変や白内障合併例で角膜内皮変化が特に強い傾向があった。

We evaluated the corneal endothelium in 150 eyes of 81 patients with atopic dermatitis by specular microscopy. The series comprised 3 groups: 1) 40 eyes with cataract, 2) 28 eyes with retinal tear, hole or detachment, 3) 97 eyes without ocular changes. As an overall finding, the eyes showed significantly decreased hexagonality and increased coefficient of variation as compared with normal subjects. The corneal endothelial changes were more pronounced in eyes with retinal changes or cataract.
