　点眼治療のみでは眼圧コントロールが不良な嚢性緑内障13例18眼に対し，lasertrabeculoplasty （LTP）を行って，眼圧下降効果，合併症，視野変化などについて，同様に行った原発開放隅角緑内障14例18眼の結果と比較した。照射は隅角1／4周に25〜30発，50μm，出力500〜600mW，時間0.1秒で行った。LTP術後の生命表法による眼圧コントロール確率は嚢性緑内障群で89％（30か月），原発隅角開放緑内障群で69％（36か月）であった。LTPは中出力の照射でも，特に視野変化の軽い高齢者の嚢性緑内障には有効であり，点眼治療のみで眼圧下降が不十分な場合には，観血的手術に先立って試みてよい治療である。しかし，視野変化の進行例への適用には慎重でなければならない。

We treated 18 eyes with medically uncontrollable capsular glaucoma by argon laser trabeculoplasty (LTP). The posttreatment course was compared with that in similarly treated 18 eyes with primary open-angle glaucoma. One quadrant was treated by 25 to 30 medium-powered (500-600 mW) laser burns for each eye. The success rate of control of intraocular pressure (IOP) below 21 mmHg with topical medication was 89% in capsular glaucoma after 30 months and 69% in the control group. LTP was particularly effective for capsular glaucoma in elderly patients with minimum field loss. It appear-ed to be contraindicated in cases with advanced visual field defect.
