外因性ぶどう膜炎へのステロイド短期全身投与

Treatment of exogenous uveitis with short-term systemic corticosteroid

　主に術後炎症による外因性ぶどう膜炎13例に対してステロイド剤の短期経口投与を行い，その治療効果と副作用，特に副腎皮質機能抑制について検討した。治療方法はプレドニゾロン40mgを6日間経口投与し，その後は漸減せず中止とした。その結果，治療効果は非投与群に比べ有効であり，副腎皮質機能抑制は一時的であり，その他の全身検査でも副作用はなかった。今回の成績から，短期ステロイド療法は外因性ぶどう膜炎に対する安全で有用な治療法と考えられた。

We treated 13 cases, 13 eyes, who developed exogenous uveitis following intraocular surgery. Immediately after signs of uveitis became evident, the patients were given prednisolone at the daily dosis of 40 mg for 6 days. Another series of 34 cases, 34 eyes, served as control. The treatment waseffective in suppressing intraocular inflammation. Suppression of adrenocortical function was tempo-rary. There were no side effects throughout the course of treatment. The findings showed that short -term systemic corticosteroid was effective as treatment of exogenous uveitis.
