  • Look Inside

We evaluated 58 eyes of 29 cases with low-ten-sion glaucoma concerning disc hemorrhage and visual field defects over a 8-year period at monthly intervals. Disc hemorrhage developed in 19 eyes, 15 cases. Deterioration of visual field occurred in 79% of eyes with disc hemorrahge and in 54% of those without disc hemorrhage. In cases with unilateraldisc hemorrhage, visual field deteriorated in 82% of eyes with hemorrhage and in 73% of fellow eyes without hemorrgage. Visual field deteriorated in 46% of 28 eyes, 14 cases, without disc hemorrhage throughout. The differences were significant (p < O. 05). The findings indicate that low-tension glau-coma consists of a group with a tendency for recur-rent disc hemorrhage and of another without. The former group seemed to be liable to further deterio-ration of visual field.
