白内障手術によるアイフレイル自己チェックの改善効果

Improvement of the eye-frail check after cataract surgery

要約　目的：視機能の衰えを意味するアイフレイルが提唱されている。今回，白内障手術によるアイフレイル状況の改善を検討した。

方法：1か月以内に両眼白内障手術を施行した症例を対象とした。症例は48例，平均年齢は74.4±6.9歳であった。手術前と手術3か月後に10項目のアイフレイル自己チェックを施行し，手術前後の結果を比較した。チェック数2個以上がアイフレイルの可能性があると定義されている。

結果：チェック数は術前4.1±2.0個に比べて，術後1.2±1.5個に有意に減少した（p＜0.0001）。術前にチェックが多かった項目は，⑥まぶしく感じやすい38例，⑤眼鏡をかけてもよく見えないと感じることが多くなった36例，③新聞や本を長時間見ることが少なくなった30例であった。10項目中9項目で術後にチェック数は有意に減少した（p＜0.05）。術後にチェック数が減少した項目は，⑤眼鏡をかけてもよく見えないと感じることが多くなった29例，⑥まぶしく感じやすい24例などであった。チェック数が2個以上の症例は，術前42例が術後14例に有意に減少した（p＜0.0001）。

結論：白内障手術によりアイフレイル状況は改善した。白内障手術は患者のquality of life改善に寄与している。

Abstract　Purpose：Eye-frail, which means a decline in visual function, was proposed. Improvement of eye-frail status by cataract surgery was examined in this study.

Methods：This study included patients who underwent bilateral cataract surgery within one month. A 10-item eye-frail self-check questionnaire was administered before and 3 months after the surgery, and the results were compared before and after surgery.

Results：A total of 48 patients were enrolled the mean age was 74.4±6.9 years. The number of checks on the questionnaire decreased significantly to 1.2±1.5 after surgery compared 4.1±2.0（p＜0.0001）. The most frequently reported items before the surgery were ⑥feeling dazzled easily（n＝38）, ⑤not seeing well even with glasses（n＝36）, and ③not reading newspapers or books for a long time（n＝30）. The number of checks significantly decreased in 9 out of the 10 items after the surgery（p＜0.05）. The items where the number of checks most frequently decreased after the surgery were ⑤not seeing well even with glasses（n＝29）and ⑥feeling dazzled easily（n＝24）. The number of items with two or more checks significantly decreased from 42 before the surgery to 14 after surgery（p＜0.0001）.

Conclusion：The results revealed that cataract surgery improves eye frail patients' quality of life.
