Abstract Purpose:To reported two cases who were discarded as visually handicapped person according to the criteria before July 2018.

Cases:Both were males aged 58 and 52 years respectively. Both were suffering from glaucoma and reported dfficulty in social life.

Findings:Best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)was 0.3 right and 0.4 left in the first case. Intraocular pressure was in normal range. Goldmann perimetry showed moderately advanced visual field defect. BCVA in the second case was 1.0 right and 1.2 left. Intraocular pressure was in normal range. Visual field defect was advanced in the right eye and early glaucomatous change in the left. According to the now revised criteria, these two cases were graded as grade 5 of visual disabiity. Functional acuity score was 79 and 100 respectively for case 1 and 2. Functional field score was 79 and 75 respectively. According to AMA criteria, case 1 was assigned to class 2 and case 2 to class 1.

Conclusion:These 2 cases failed to be designated as visually disabled according to the previous criteria and were now regarded as visually disabled according to the revised criteria.
