Subconjunctival scleral rupture due to blunt trauma

　鈍的外傷による結膜下眼球破裂5例のうち，結膜を通して容易に観察される輪部近傍の破裂の1例を除くと，外眼筋より後方の破裂4例の診断は受傷後10日から17日，平均13日を要していた。眼球組織の鈍的傷害のため視力予後はもともと良いものではないと考えられるものの，受傷後早期に診断がなされるべきである。

We reviewed 5 cases of subconjunctival scleral rupture due to severe blunt ocular trauma. The scleral rupture ran circumferentially, or parallel to the limbus, in all the eyes. The rupture was located anterior to the insertion of rectus muscles in one case and posterior in four. The four cases withposterior scleral ruptute were characterized by delayed detection 10 to 17 days after injury. Subcon-junctival scleral rupture is to be highly suspected when blunt injury is followed by hypotony, abnor-mally deep anterior chamber with hyphema, dense vitreous hemorrhage and poor light projection.
