生体眼の超音波パワースペクトラム解析に関する研究

Power spectrum analysis of ultrasonogram in ophthalmology

　超音波AモードのRF信号をフーリエ変換して，Aモード，Bモードなど従来の方法ではとり落としていた周波数成分のパワースペクトラム解析を行い，情報量を増加させ，超音波検査の診断精度の向上と，検査手技の簡易化を計るために実験を行い，次の知見を得た．

（1）パワースペクトラム解析により，これまで十分に活用できなかった超音波反射波の周波数成分に関する情報を診断に応用でき，診断精度の向上をもたらすと期待できる．

（2）パワースペクトラムの高周波数域（10〜64MHz）の波形によって，硝子体内の膜形成などの病的状態の鑑別診断と経過観察が可能である．

（3）かくして周波数解析法は，Aモード法の診断手技の簡易化，迅速化，診断精度の一手法として，今後の実用化が期待される．

A-mode frequency signals from pathologic lesions in the vitreous were analyzed as to their power spectrum components. This method provided with clinical data about attenuation characteristics of unique value that is not available with convention-al A-or B-mode ultrasonography. It was possible to specifically identify the intravitreal membranes and detached retina based on the wave-form pattern in the high-frequency range of 10 to 64 MHz of A-mode power spectrum.

Our findings indicate that mode-locked YAG laser may be used effectively and safely in treating membranes or strands located in the middle or posterior vitreous.
