We evaluated the lymphocyte subsets in cir-culating blood in uveitis patients by means of reactivity with monoclonal antibodies to the surface antigens of OKT3, OKT4, OKT8 and OKIa1+. The uveitis cases included anterior uveitis (15 cases), Behçet disease (15), Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease (5), sarcoid uveitis (5) and unclassified pan-uveitis (5). A group of 55 healthy subjects served as controls.

When seen as a whole, the uveitis cases were characterized by a significantly higher percentage of OKT4+ cells (p <0.01) and by a significantly lower percentage of OKIa1+ cells (p<0.01) than controls.
