  • Look Inside

We performed an experimental Q-switched ruby laser iridotomy on 22 eyes of 14 rabbits.

Argon laser photocoagulation was required be-fore iridotomy to prevent bleeding from the iris. An iridotomy lens was necessary to prevent er-roneous retinal burn.

We tried four types of iridotomy lens : Kita-zawa's lens (modified Abraham's lens) which was made of two-blocked glass lens, Krasnov's one-blocked glass lens, our new designed one-blocked glass lens and one-blocked plastic lens.

When we used Kitazawa's lens, the first shot of Q-switched ruby laser cracked the interface of the two lens components.
