Vitreous specimen was obtained from 2 eyes with Kirisawa's uveitis during vitrectomy and was sub-jected to ultrastructural and biochemical analyses.

Electron microscopically, the vitreous collagen fibrils appeared to be clustered with granular materials of high electron density deposited on the fibrils. Virus-like particles were present in and out-side the damaged cells and debris.

The vitreous showed a marked increase in the volume of total protein, albumin, IgG and C3. The IgG value was siginificantly increased when com-pared with the total protein.
