コロニー中央病院眼科における小児診療の工夫

Impovements in ophthalmic examinations of children

　眼科における小児診療は，大人のそれと比べ協力を得られないことが多い点から，非常に難しいことは周知のとおりであるが，我々の愛知県心身障害者コロニー中央病院においては，精神発達遅滞や自閉症等の患者が多く，一般の小児病院よりさらに困難である。そこで我々は種々の工夫を行って，現在では比較的スムースに診療を行うことができるようになっているので報告した。

　主な工夫は以下の4点であり，これらの工夫はきわめて効果的であった。

（1）抑制帯の使用

（2） GOFのマスクによる吸入麻酔

（3）懸垂型に改良した眼底カメラ

（4）暗室の照明の調節

A majority of patients in our institution are child-ren with at least one of such diseases as mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy or behavior disorders. Even while every possible effort is made to communicate with these children and to get their cooperation, it is almost always too difficult to perform detailed examinations or to treat them appropriately. We therefore introduced following improvements to solve these difficulties.

( 1 ) A constrict band system to be used with an examination bed. ( 2 ) Inhalation anesthesia with nitrous oxide, fluothane and oxygen.
