　現在に至るまで，視覚障害児のための発達評価表はなく，既存の発達評価表では不満足の点が多かった．そこで今回，我々と当院総合診療部により，視覚障害児のための発達チェックリストを試作し，その実用性を確認しえたので報告した．

Currently available checklists to evaluate systemic development of children are grossly inadequate for children with severe visual disturbances. We therefore designed a new checklist to assess the systemic develop-ment of visually handicapped children. It includes a number of questions about detailed findings that can be ascertained by many organs other than the eye.

We evaluated a series of 51 visually handicapped children with the new method. The findings were grat-ifying and promised to be of value in recording and future planning of rehabilitation.
