老人性白内障における糖および糖アルコールについて

Sugars and sugar alcohols in human cataractous lenses

　当大学における白内障手術患者から凍結法によって摘出して得た水晶体80眼について水晶体重量，水分量，電解質（Na^＋，K^＋），糖および糖アルコール（Fructose, Sorbitol，Glucose, Inositol）およびうち30眼についてAldose reductase activityを測定し，次の結果を得た。

（1）成熟期（老人性および糖尿病性白内障）で著明なNa^＋，Na／K比，含水率の上昇，K^＋の減少が認められた。水晶体重量はいずれも変化がなかった。

（2） Glucoseは成熟期に多く，未熟期に少なく，Inositolはこれと正反対の変動を示した。SorbitolとFructoseは未熟期に多く認められ，「老人」と「糖尿病」の比は2分の1〜3分の1であった。成熟期になるとSorbitolとFructoseはほとんど認められなくなった。

（3）未熟期「老人」にGlucose 50g経口負荷を行ったところ，水晶体中の糖および糖アルコールは，糖負荷を行わなかった症例に比し，有意差は生じなかったが，すべてに増加を示した。

（4）「老人」未熟期においては糖負荷の有無にかかわらず，水晶体内においてGlucose量の多いものほどFructose＋Sorbitol量も多かった。

（5）水晶体Aldose reductase活性は成熟期には低下しているが，未熟期では「老人」に最も高く，有意差はないが「糖尿病」がこれに次いで高かった。

Sugars, sugar alcohols, sodium, potassium, hy-dration and aldose reductase activities of 80 human senile cataractous lenses were quantitatively ana-lyzed. Increase of glucose, sodium, hydration and decrease of inositol and potassium were observed during the course of maturity of lens opacity. Com-paring with immature diabetic cataract, immature non-diabetic senile cataractous lenses contained one-half to one-third amount of sorbitol and fruc-tose.
