  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Three cases with recalcitrant Mooren's ulcer were successfully treated by repeated excisions. The condition was of relentlessly progressive type in spite of treatments with topical serum, cysteine,EDTA and corticosteroids. In each of the three cases, the fellow eye had already been lost.

The corneal ulcer in one case was initially treatedby conjunctival covering without lasting effect. Excision of the conjunctiva adjacent to the ulcer healed it in a kw weeks and the eye became free of pain. Recurrence of corneal ulcer in another quandrant was successfully treated by similar means and the cornea finally became quiescent.
