上眼瞼に咬着したヤトマダニ（Ixodes ovatus Neumann）の1例

A Case of Tick Bite in the Upper Eyelid

緒　言

　わが国のマダニ類（Ixodideae）は浅沼（1965）によると7属見出されるといわれており，それらマダニ類は，すべて吸血のための宿主を必要としている。

　このように生活史の一環に必ず宿主を必要とするために，マダニ類の生活圏内に人間が立ち入つた場合は，その吸血のために，しばしば人が選ばれる例が報告されている。

An apparently healthy, 27-year-old male developed localized swelling in the upper lid margin in the right eye after having wandered in the mountain area. The causative parasite was detected under the operating microscope and was identified as adult female tick 'Ixodes ovatus Neumann'. This case is reported beca-use of the rarity of such an occurrence in the South-Eastern coastal area of Japan
