A girl of 10 years of age fell ill suddenly beginning with blindness of both eyes, and subsequently extending to transversal spinal paralysis, which had the symptoms rese-mbling Devic's disease.

In addition to the symptoms there were increased intracranial pressure, irritation of the meninges, many cells in the spinal fluid, and gape of the cranial suture. Death occurred some 3 months after sudden blindness.

Postmortem examination showed medulloblastomas in the fourth ventricle, vertex of the cerebrum and in the spinal tract, with extensive invasion to the basilar meninges and spinal meninges.
