老人病学の一つの場としてのERGの意義

緒言

　老人の病態生理に関する研究は最近我国に於ても漸く盛となりつつあるが元来地道な系統的研究の蓄積によつてのみその発展の期待し得る分野である。我々は今回京都大学医学部前川内科を中心として行われた老人の病態生理に関する臨床的統計観察に協力して眼科的検索を行い，特に今回の研究が中枢神経系障碍を中心とするものである事に鑑み，眼科に於ては特にERGによつて網膜機能状態を測定し，種々示唆に富む結果を得たので此処に報告する。

As a part of the clinical statistical investigation concerning aged people with special re-ference to various neurological disturbances, ophthalmological examinations including Electroretinography in 39 people between 56 and 87 years of age living in an "old people's home in Kyoto" were carried out.

The objects of this series of investigation were not always normal individuals.

Various circulatory and neurological disorders were found by means of some electrophy-siological methods (EEG, EMG and ECG) as well as by other biochemical and serological examinations.
