　近年ペニシリンの眼局所使用による眼瞼炎や結膜炎は我々の屡々経験するところであるが，全身的使用による眼疾患の発生についての報告は寥々たるものであり，殊に深在角膜炎に至つては報告皆無のようである。我々はペニシリンショック患者の両眼に起つた深在角膜炎に遭遇したので，その概略を記述したいと思う。

　患者：56歳女。

Recently we observed a patient of keratitis profunda who had suffered from penicillin shock.

Patient : A 56-year-old woman.

History : August 21, 1959, she was injected intramuscularly 300,000 units of penicillin on account of pyelitis. Immediately after the injection she was afflicted with severe shock, and two hours after her temperature rose to 38℃. The fever lasted about eighteen hours. Next morning, she noted that the sight of both eyes was failing, and so she consulted us August 24, 1959.
