緒言

　Polyvinylpyrrolidon （P．V．P．）は1940年Re-ppeにより創製され，初め代用血液として用いられたが，その後単に補液としての意味以外に様々な治療作用を有することが明らかとなり，現在各方面で広く応用されている。眼科領域に於ても既に二，三の人々により使用され一部の眼疾患に効果があると報ぜられている。私共は本剤の眼局所使用を企て，動物実験及び臨床応用を行つたのでこゝにその大要をのべてみたいと思う。

A PVP (0.02cc) was injected in the anterior chamber of the rabbit eye after the re-moval of the same amount of aqueous humor and compared with the results with the air and physiological saline. Macroscopical and slit-lamp microscopic examinations revealed that PVP caused less extensive inflammatory reaction compared with the control.
