Trachomaの発病に関する最近の三井氏の説に対する疑義，特に急性，慢性と云う言葉について

A Few Question on the Onset of Trachoma of Dr. Mitsui's Theory

　Trachoma （以下Tr．）が急性に発病するか，慢性に発病するかと云うことは，最近内外に於いて活発に論議されている処であるが，この場合の急性，慢性と云う言葉の解釈に柳か混乱があり，国内に於いても，又対外的にも誤解の因となつている様に思われる。殊に我が国に於けるTr．急性発病説の首唱者である三井幸彦氏の所説に柳か理解し難い点があるので，其の疑問を述べて三井氏の答を期待し，これ等の言葉の上の混乱を少しでも整理しておく事は今後の混乱を避ける為にも是非必要と考えるものである。

Of late, it is under discussion whether the onset of trachoma is acute or chronic. But the investigators have a discrepancy in interpretation of term "acute" or "chronic." It seems to me that this is one of the causes which bring them to misunderstanding.

Dr. Y. Mitsui, who had expressed his epoch-making opinion that trachoma has generally an acute onset, said in his private paper to Dr.Bietti (Or. Bietti opened it recently to the public) that the acute onset is a "sudden onset even without important acute clinical symptom has been considered hitherto as a chronic onset."
