一般住民を対象としたトラコーマ集団治療に就て—福岡市外志賀島に於けるアクロマイシンによるトラコーマ集団治療成績

Mass Treatment against trachoma of general Inhabitants in Shikanoshima:The results of mass treatment of trachoma by new antibiotic, Achromycin.

Ⅰ．緒言

　我々九大医学部眼科教室，福岡県衛生部及び福岡県粕屋保健所は西日本新聞民生事業団と共同して，昭和30年8月初旬より，10月末迄の3カ月間に亘り，福岡市に近い福岡県粕屋郡志賀島町志賀島に於て，一般全住民を対象としてトラコーマ集団治療を行い，優秀な成果を収めたのでこゝに報告する。この報告はこの種の重要な参考資料であると信じている。

　此の趣旨は，トラコーマ罹患率の比較的高い地区を選び，同地区内のトラコーマ撲滅を企図したものであつて，単に暫定時な診療所を開設し，トラコーマ患者中の希望者を任意に出頭せしめて，治療を施すという程度のものではなかつたのである。今回の実施地区の志賀島に於ては，町長はじめ，全住民の全面的協力を受けて行われたのである。

Shikanoshima which is situated outside Fukuoka city is an islet which is about 12 kilo-metres round, and composed of three mutually isolated districts. Its population is 4088 in total. The results which we investigated all of its inhabitants are as these : number of people infected by active trachoma is 965 (percentage of infection is 23.7%) and number of people infected by inactive trachoma is 681 (percentage of infection is 16.65%). This active trachoma fallsron Tr. I , Tr. II and Tr. III. and inactive trachoma Tr. WW.

We had decided to cure all that had been infected by this actiue trachoma.
