Shikanoshima which is situated outside Fukuoka city is an islet which is about 12 kilo-metres round, and composed of three mutually isolated districts. Its population is 4088 in total. The results which we investigated all of its inhabitants are as these : number of people infected by active trachoma is 965 (percentage of infection is 23.7%) and number of people infected by inactive trachoma is 681 (percentage of infection is 16.65%). This active trachoma fallsron Tr. I , Tr. II and Tr. III. and inactive trachoma Tr. WW.

We had decided to cure all that had been infected by this actiue trachoma.
