トラコーマの集団治療とその治癒判定について

Diagnosis of the healing of trachoma after mass treatment

1．はしがき

　トラコーマの集団治療については，既に多数の学者によつて研究発表され，改めて報告する分野はほとんど残されていないかの様に考えられる。筆者等もまた昭和25年以来今日に至るまでこれを試みてきた。昨年までの経験では，もはやこの課題には疑問は残されていないものと結論しようとした。ところが本年たまたま26,000名の小・中学生を検診した結果，集団治療にはまだ検討を要する問題の存在することを知つた。

　従来の研究は，一応トラコーマと診断を下したものを治療の対象者として，いろいろな治療条件がその経過に及ぼす影響或は患者のもつ条件と治療経過との関係等について検討されたものが多い。周知の様に本病はまだその診断の基準がはつきりしていない。文部省総合研究トラコーマ班にしても，今漸くその決定をいそいでいる現状である。従つて集団治療に際して，その対象者の選定の基準はそれぞれの集団治療例毎に必ずしも一致しているとは限らない。同様のことが治癒判定についても考えられる。ところがこれが引いては本病の集団治療の意義について，疑問を生ずる重要な原因の1つとなるものである。

The author carried out mass-treatment of trachoma with antibiotics on 12 primary schools and 4 junior high schools in Aichi Pref. since December, 1950.

Result of treatment have not fixed depending on the number of times and terms of treatment, the presence of a combined operatien, symptoms of the eye, and the terms and methods of diagnosis of the healing.

However when it was carried out in the approximately same conditions a similar result was produced without distinction of cities, agricultural and fishing districts.
