トラコーマの抗生物質療法

Antibiotic therapy of Trachoma

　現在数多存する抗生物質中ある種のものがトラコーマ治療薬として劃期的効果をもたらすものであることに就ては今日も早殆んど異論はないように思う。然しそれら物質のトラコーマに対する効果の優劣や使用方法の細部に就ては必ずしも議論がないとは云われない。こうしたことに関連して私共の教室に於ける成績をもとに以下に多少述べて見たいと思う。

　実験症例はすべて学童トラコーマであつて，治療対象として学童を選んだ理由は，1）多数症例に就て一時に実験が出来て，2）年齢層が一定しているため学校が異なつても病期の分布状態が略略類似していること，3）年齢的に最も従順な時期であるから一定の方針の下に規則正しい治療を行い易いことなどのためであり，従つて得られた成績は，相互の比較に最も好都合であるからである。

Antibiotics were locally administered as a vaselin-ointment for the masstreatment of schhoo-ltrachoma. The seven antibiotics, aureomycin (AM), achromycin (AcM), terramycin (TM), chloromycetin (CM), ilotycin (IT), leucomycin-Hata (LM) and magnamycin (MM), were used.

1) There are many Opinions as for the Concentration of the drug. Various % of vaselin ointments made with TM, AM and CM were tested, effects of which were proportional to the concentration, but reached to the maximal point at the certain concentration. Moreover AM and TM have a more or less irritable effect, so we cannot use such a high concentration.
