  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The chemical formula for Catapresan is 2-(2, 6-dichlorophenylamino)-2-imidazoline hydroch-loride, and its molecular weight is 266. 57. This eyedrop causes lowering of intraocular press-ure without affecting the pupillary diameter, but also has a systemic hypotensive action.

After applying two drops of 0.125% solution to one eye each of five healthy persons at an interval of 30 minutes, lowering of intraocular pressure was seen in eight eyes, with the ma-ximum drop registering 9.35 mmHg.
