除草剤グラモキソン（Paraquat）による角結膜のChemical burnの1例

Ocular Chemical Burn by a Herbicide, Gramoxone

緒言

　グラモキソン（Gramoxone）はParaquatを含んだ強力な除草剤で，英国等では1960年代より，日本では1970年代より使用されている。著者はこのグラモキソン原液（24％）を両眼に誤入した結果，酸による角結膜のChemical burnと同様の変化，すなわち急性カタル性結膜炎および角膜ビランを伴つた症例を経験したので報告する。

Concentrated solution of Gramoxone contain-ing 24% Paraquat, a potent herbicide, acciden-tally splashed into both eyes of anadult male. The immediate lesion consisted of chemosis and extensive corneal erosion. Corneal hypesthesia lasted for 8 weeks after the incident. As the solution was practically neutral with the Ph at 6.7, the lesion is ascribed to the chemical, still ill-defined effect of the herbicide.
